If trainer’s wish to provide additional feedback regarding the August workshop, please contact our administration team. Question: “If the course is online why can’t the certificate be issued straight away?” Answer: To issue a certificate we have to check pre-requisites (get them verified), check the e-learning has been completed and go through the steps to issue. We issue our certificates by date order, so we stay compliant. Suggestion: “Quicker response to emails” Answer: We aim to respond to emails within 24 hours. We receive emails, calls and enquires all day long that we attend to. Suggestion: “Website & axcelerate working properly” Answer: Please contact us if there are problems as we may not know what is happening from a participant/trainers perspective. Suggestion: “First Aid certificates verified by RLSSQ before the course, if the person registers and the trainer provides the certificate.” Answer: We prefer receiving pre-requisites before a course as it speeds along the certificate process, We are unable to control how long it will take other RTO’s to verify a certificate for us. We do follow it up with the RTO but required to wait. By providing pre-requisites prior to a course, allows us more time to ensure checks are completed and ready for certificate issuance. Question: “If someone is doing a full Pool Lifeguard in 2022 and their First Aid was completed in 2019, so it expires in 2022, do they have to update their First Aid before the Pool Lifeguard?” Answer: When we issue a Pool Lifeguard certificate we do ask for at least 6 months left on a First Aid certificate. Regional Workshops:As a training organisation, we greatly understand the importance of delivering courses for communities in regional locations. We also understand the difficulty of holding professional development workshops in regional areas. If RLSSQ were to hold professional development workshops in regional areas, a significant price would incur to cover all expenses. We hope in the future to conduct workshops in different locations. However, we will continue to hold workshops within the Brisbane region in the mean time. Course Material Updates:Our team has received course material feedback from trainers which we are in the process of updating. These updates include:Adding answer guides to TAG’s (Trainer and Assessor Guide) that do not already have oneReviewing the TAG for each course and making changes where neededMinor formatting and spelling errors in assessment workbooks and TAG’s Additions to Training:After reviewing the feedback provided by trainers at the previous workshop, we have taken these suggestions under consideration and will begin to implement these suggestions. The additions to our Training Department include of: Creating a procedure for the use of Kahoot in the face-to-face component of courses. This procedure will be a step-by-step guide on how to access and use Kahoot. Informing trainers via email once new versions of assessment workbooks, TAG’s and PowerPoints have been released. This will generally be acknowledged in our monthly newsletters on top of our Course Materials Update section of the newsletter. Monthly Zoom Meetings for trainers. This is an opportunity for trainers to address any problems and provide suggestions or feedback. We are currently in the process of arranging a schedule for these Zoom Meetings, and will inform trainers of the dates for the meetings as soon as we can. A timetable for new releases of course materials. During the cooler months of the year, our team reviews and updates our course materials. The timetable will consist of a review date for the course materials, an opportunity for trainers to provide any feedback for changes by a specific date which will be addressed in our monthly newsletters, as well as an estimated release date of the course materials. Our team is currently in the process of creating a timetable for 2023. If trainers wish to provide feedback on our course materials for 2023, please contact our administration team. Creating a Resource Hub and a Trainer Working Group. This is a great opportunity for trainers to share training resources, and ask questions and learn about different training methods for particular types of learners. Our team is currently looking into this addition to our Training Department and will keep trainers informed of the process.
