Professional Development

At this link you will find an example of Professional Development (PD) including a reflection/journal entry for an article. Workplace activities require evidence such as a letter from an employer with statement of duties or activities and as much supporting evidence as possible. Please provide certificates from approved seminar / conferences / workshops. All trainers will need to supply a Professional Development logby 30 June 2023. We are currently creating a Trainers Hub to help trainers with PD opportunities and accessing training resources.

TAE Requirements (TAE40122)

The updated TAE requirements have been finalised and we wold like to provide you with the updated information. Please download this update and review the information. Please note that alongside the current changes to the TAE, the RTO standards are presently under review so further changes in the future may be required.

August Workshop

We are hoping to release the new Sport and Rec units at our August Trainer and Assessor Network (Saturday 12 & Sunday 13 August 2023).

All trainers wishing to continue training with the new units will need to attend these courses to upgrade to the new units of competence. The new units are not equivalent to the current units issued. If trainers are not able to attend this workshop they can register in a public RLSSQ course to upgrade to the new units. The usual course fee will apply to those courses.
Further information regarding the TAN will be sent out once finalised.

ANZCOR Guideline

Please find below updated ANZCOR Guidelines. The highlighted sections are relevant to potential changes in teaching practices and updates to the First Aid Manual. https://rlssq.com.au/tmp/ANZCOR-Guideline-9-1-3.pdf

Participant Bookings

Please ensure any participant that is attending a course is registered (electronically) at www.lifesavingtraining.com.au. There has been an increased number of participants not being electronically registered in to courses. Electronic registration allows for quick issuance of certificates. If we need to rely on the paper workbooks, this causes delays and sometime non-issuance of certificates if we cannot make contact with the participant.

Participant Gifts

We have had the suggestions about providing your course participants with a course specific giveaway. We are happy to offer these to trainers at a wholesale price if you are interested.  Trainers can sell these to participants or use them as a giveaway when a person completes a course with you.
